Konzept und Künstlerische Leitung
Alex Moussa Sawadogo
Alex Moussa Sawadogo hat Kunstgeschichte in Ouagadougou und Kultur und Medienmanagement in Hamburg studiert und sich dabei auf Tanz und Film spezialisiert. Mitarbeit in zahlreichen Kultureinrichtungen in Burkina Faso, u.a. beim panafrikanischen Filmfestival FESPACO. Nach seinem Umzug nach Berlin war er 2005 als Presse- und Kulturbeauftragter der Botschaft von Burkina Faso in Berlin tätig. Er konzipierte und kuratierte die Tanzfestivals „Border Border Express“ (2011), „Moussokouma“ (2013) und „Schlaflose Nächte“ ( 2016) im Theater HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin. Zudem war er als Kurator bei weiteren Festivals tätig, u.a. Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, German Film Focus (Südafrika), Afrotech (Dortmund). 2012–2015 war Sawadogo als künstlerischer Berater für das Programm „Open Doors“ beim Festival del Film Locarno tätig.
Für das Festival „Theater der Welt“ in Mannheim konzipierte er 2014 mit ITI Deutschland das Symposium „Africa Archive – Africa Future“. Seit 2007 ist Sawadogo künstlerischer Leiter des Filmfestivals AFRIKAMERA in Berlin und seit 2016 auch des Ouaga Film Lab in Burkina Faso.
Er ist zudem Fondsmanager des Anfang 2018 gegründeten Fonds Jeune Création Francophone.
Projektmanagement und Finanzen
Uta Rügner
Uta Rügner leitete nach dem Studienabschluss 1996 in Slavistik und Kulturwissenschaften die Public Relations bei der tRÄNENpALAST Veranstaltungs GmbH, KULTURBRAUEREI GmbH und Kesselhaus GmbH.
Mit der Hahn Produktion führte sie als Projekt- und Produktionsleiterin
die „Russischen Kulturtage in Deutschland 03/04″, ein internationaler Kulturdialog im Auftrag des Auswärtigen Amts und des Landes Berlin bundesweit durch. Derzeit produziert sie mit dem Team von toucouleur e.V. AFRIKAMERA – Zeitgenössisches Kino aus Afrika, mit dem Kulturbrauerei e.V. Festivals für zeitgenössischen afrikanischen Tanz in Kooperation mit HAU Hebbel am Ufer, einen deutsch-polnischen Austausch für angehende Filmkritiker*innen, programmiert eine Bühne beim Karneval der Kulturen und arbeitet als PR- und Kulturmanagerin für freie Kultur- und Filmfestivals und Auftraggeber aus Kultur, Bildung und Soziales. Sie berät Vereine, Initiativen und freie Künstler*innen bei der Konzeption von Förderanträgen und der Mittelverwaltung und ist ehrenamtlich für den Schutz und die Integration von Geflüchteten aktiv.
Kommunikation und Konzeption
Florian Wachinger
Florian Wachinger studierte Kulturwissenschaft in Berlin und London sowie Kulturmanagement in Hamburg. Er arbeitet als Kulturmanager, Kurator und Journalist in den Bereichen Film, Musik und zeitgenössische Kunst. Als (Co)-Kurator verantwortete er u.a. die Filmretrospektiven “Musik- Stadt – Berlin” und “Berlin Rewind” im Rahmen von achtung berlin / Berlin Music Week sowie die Filmreihe “Tonspuren – Filme hören” im Rahmen der MaerzMusik. Als Projektmanager ist er für internationale Musik- und Kunstfestivals wie SOUND EXCHANGE und POP-KULTUR tätig.
PR
Christiane Dramé
Christiane Dramé studierte in Berlin und Triest Germanistik, Politologie und Italianistik. Nach einem Rundfunk-Volontariat baute sie Deutschlands ersten 24-stündigen Jazzsender JazzRadio Berlin mit auf, wo sie u.a. für die PR zuständig war. Sechs Jahre leitete sie die Pressestelle der tRÄNENpALAST Veranstaltungs GmbH, seit 2006 ist sie als freiberufliche PR-Fachfrau mit den Schwerpunkten Kultur und Bildung tätig und betreute zahlreiche Festivals und Kulturprojekte in Berlin und überregional. In Luxemburg war sie im Rahmen von „Luxemburg und Großregion – Kulturhauptstadt Europas 2007“ an verschiedenen Projekten beteiligt. Für toucouleur e.V. verantwortet sie die PR für zeitgenössischen afrikanischen Tanz in Kooperation mit dem HAU – Hebbel am Ufer, zudem betreut sie die PR für die Filmfestivals AFRIKAMERA und ALFILM – Arabisches Filmfestival. Im Bereich kulturelle Bildung koordinierte sie 2012 die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit für die „Woche der Sprache und des Lesens“, initiiert von Integrationsexperte Kazim Erdogan. Daneben arbeitet sie als PR-Dozentin bei Weiterbildungsträgern.
Produktion
Mandy Okereke
Mandy Okereke studierte Regionalstudien Afrika an der HU Berlin sowie Kunstgeschichte im globalen Kontext mit Schwerpunkt Afrika an der FU Berlin. Für Recherchen reiste sie während des Studiums regelmäßig in westafrikanische Staaten. Im HKW arbeitete sie seit 2010 zunächst im Veranstaltungsdienst und später im hausinternen Buchladen. 2013 absolvierte sie ein mehrmonatiges Praktikum in der Zweigstelle der französischen Verlagsgruppe L’Harmattan in Guinea Conakry. Die Mitarbeit im Produktionsteam von Afrikamera begann sie 2015.
Bildungsvermittlung und -moderation
REBECCA POKUA KORANG
Rebecca Pokua Korang arbeitet seit 2017 mit AFRIKAMERA zusammen und ist performative Künstlerin, Empowerment-Trainerin und arbeitet in der mobilen Jugendarbeit in Berlin. Ihre künstlerische Recherche fokussiert sich auf Identität, Migration, und deutsche Kolonialgeschichte in Ghana.

Tatjana Arens
Tatjana Arens studierte Philosophie und Theaterwissenschaften an der Uni Leipzig, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle 3 in Paris und an der FU Berlin. Seit 2015 ist sie feste Mitarbeiterin bei der Festspielhaus Afrika gGmbH, dem von Christoph Schlingensief initiierten Projekt Operndorf Afrika, und leitete in diesem Rahmen mehrere Veranstaltungen u.a. für das HKW Berlin und die Frieze London. Seit 2016 ist sie außerdem freie Mitarbeiterin bei Afrikamera. Tatjana Arens lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.[:en]
Concept and artistic direction
Alex Moussa Sawadogo
Alex Moussa Sawadogo studied art history in Ouagadougou and cultural management in Hamburg, specialising in dance and film. Worked for numerous cultural institutions and projects in Burkina Faso, among others the pan African film festival FESPACO. After moving to Berlin he acted as press- and cultural attaché at the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Berlin in 2005. Recently he conceived and curated the „Border Border Express“ dance festival (Hebbel am Ufer). Furthermore he co-curated the African films at the International Short Film Festival Winterthur and was artistical advisor for the „Open Doors 2012“ program at Festival del Film Locarno. Mr. Sawadogo has since 2007 been the artistical director of the AFRIKAMERA film festival.
Project Management and Finance
Uta Rügner
Uta Rügner graduated in philology and cultural studies in 1996, after which she was in charge of public relations at tRÄNENpalast Veranstaltungs GmbH, KULTURBRAUEREI GmbH and Kesselhaus GmbH. With Hahn Produktion she was project and production manager for the nationwide „Russischen Kulturtage in Deutschland 03/04″, an international cultural dialogue, commisioned by the Foreign Ministry and the State of Berlin. Currently her expertise as project and cultural manager is utilised by organisations such as Stiftung Brandenburgische Gedenkstätten (Brandenburg Memorials Foundation), Besucherdienste der Staatlichen Museen, Piranha Kultur , Artefakt Kulturkonzepte, Werbegemeinschaft Sony Center Berlin. At AFRIKAMERA she is in charge of project management and financial administration.
Communication and Program conception
Florian Wachinger
Florian Wachinger studied cultural studies in Berlin and London as well as cultural management in Hamburg. He works as a cultural manager, curator and journalist, engaging in film, music and contemporary art. During the past year he was responsible as (co)curator for the film retrospectives „Musik- Stadt – Berlin“ and „Berlin Rewind“ as part of actung berlin / Berlin Music Week, as well as the film series „Tonspuren – Filme hören“, a part of MaerzMusik 2011. As a cultural manager with focus on production he works for international music and arts festivals, such as SOUND EXCHANGE and documenta. At AFRIKAMERA he is responsible for PR and communication as well as text and concept development.
PR
Christiane Dramé
Christiane Dramé studied German, Political and Italian Studies in Berlin and Trieste. After a radio traineeship she built Germany’s first 24-hour jazz broadcaster JazzRadio Berlin, where she u.a. was responsible for the PR. For six years she headed the press office of tRÄNENpALAST Veranstaltungs GmbH. Since 2006 she has worked as a freelance PR specialist with a focus on culture and education and has been responsible for numerous festivals and cultural projects in Berlin and beyond. In Luxembourg, she was involved in various projects within the framework of „Luxembourg and the Greater Region – European Capital of Culture 2007“. For toucouleur e.V. she is responsible for the PR for contemporary African dance in cooperation with the HAU – Hebbel am Ufer, and she is also responsible for PR for the film festivals AFRIKAMERA and ALFILM – Arabian Film Festival. In the area of cultural education, she coordinated the public relations work for the „Week of Language and Reading“ in 2012, initiated by integration expert Kazim Erdogan. In addition, she works as a PR lecturer for further education providers.
Production
Mandy Okereke
Mandy Okereke studied African Area Studies at HU Berlin and Art History in a global context with a focus on Africa. She’s been traveling through several west African countries for research on a regular basis. In 2010 she started working in the event service at HKW and later worked at the in-house bookshop. In 2013 she completed an internship at the Guinea Conakry branch of the French publisher L’Harmattan. She’s been a member of the production team of Afrikamera since 2015.
Educational mediation and moderation
REBECCA POKUA KORANG
Rebecca Pokua Korang has been working with AFRIKAMERA since 2017 and is a performative artist, empowerment trainer, and works in mobile youth work in Berlin. Her artistic research focuses on identity, migration, and German colonial history in Ghana.

Tatjana Arens
Tatjana Arens studied philosophy and theater studies at the University of Leipzig, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle 3 in Paris and at the FU Berlin. Since 2015 she is cooperator at the Festspielhaus Afrika gGmbH, the project Operndorf Afrika initiated by Christoph Schlingensief, where she led several events, among others for the HKW Berlin and the Frieze London. Since 2016 she is collaborator for Afrikamera. Tatjana Arens lives and works in Berlin.[:]
